I received a Masters Degree in Counseling/Community Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1990. I then completed my Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Clinical
Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH in 1997. I became licensed in Ohio as a Clinical Psychologist in 1998.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, and the Toledo Area Ostomy Association.
My husband and I are raising our two beautiful sons. My family is my priority, and I am blessed to have both my family and my husband's family living close to us.
Over the past 8 years I have dealt with issues related to Crohn's disease and Colitis, which have given me tremendous insights into working with individuals and
family members with chronic illness. I believe my own life experiences have enhanced my personal and spiritual life, as well as my abilities as a therapist.
My philosophy is that psychotherapy is a collaborative process; thus, I strongly feel that the therapeutic relationship is important to making progress in therapy. I think it
takes courage to enter therapy, and I believe positive changes can occur at any point in life if someone is willing to work for those changes. My approach to therapy is
primarily Eclectic, which means I use aspects of many theories that seem to fit with both the client and their issues. Some of the theories I base my work on include
Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal, and Systems theory.
I am presently accepting new referrals and I am a provider with several insurance panels. I also accept out-of-pocket arrangements. Please contact me with any questions
and to discuss scheduling an appointment.
